Sustainability
RenMor & Sustainability
Celebrating the best of Cornwall
‘Sustainability’ can be a bit of a greenwashing phrase. But our connection to land and sea is central to everything we do at RenMor. Celebrating the best of Cornwall also means preserving it and encouraging it. So we’re committed to serving sustainable food that is good for the environment, our customers, and our community.
Some of the ways we’re working to reduce our environmental impact:
We currently compost 100% of our food waste. We are now focussing on reducing the amount of food waste we produce in the first place through weekly analysis of the food waste weight.
We try to avoid disposable packaging, and recycle everything we can with our partner Suez.
Removing the use of tablecloths for breakfast and dinner services, to reduce the volume of energy-hungry laundering that is done.
From mid summer 2023 our aim is that Restaurant RenMor will be entirely powered by the beautiful Cornish sunshine. We continue to work on reducing our energy consumption, and are proud of the efforts we have made to date.
All our new uniforms have been sustainably sourced from NAECO, a supplier who offers recycled cotton and PET in their uniforms.
The flowers and foliage used in Restaurant RenMor are all sustainably sourced from local Cornish growers.
We use local fish suppliers who catch their haul using sustainable practices such as line caught mackerel.
